magic in the everyday

Tucked among the tree-lined streets of Charlotte’s beloved Myers Park neighborhood, this home was designed for a young family who wanted elegance without rigidity and spaces that could keep up with real life. From the start, the goal was clear: create a home that felt collected, welcoming, and deeply personal, where children could grow and memories could unfold naturally.

The dining room sets the tone for how this family lives, balancing refinement with durability through performance materials and meaningful craftsmanship, including a custom table built by the homeowner himself.

Just beyond the entry, the piano room offers a moody, intimate first impression, anchored by a piano passed down from the grandparents, a piece rich with both history and heart.

A sunny breakfast nook provides a relaxed landing point for busy mornings, while the kitchen forms the hardworking center of the home. A new walnut island, honed quartzite surfaces, and a sculptural plaster hood create a space that feels timeless yet approachable, designed to wear beautifully through years of daily life.

...while the daughter’s room transforms her dream of a fairy space into something imaginative yet enduring through a hand-painted mural and whimsical details.

Upstairs, the children’s spaces were designed to celebrate individuality while still feeling cohesive with the home as a whole. The son’s bedroom leans into a sense of cozy wonder with star-patterned wallpaper and a rich green bed...

The nursery blends function and whimsy through custom built-ins that add both storage and architectural character, paired with a playful ceiling treatment that evokes an open sky. Nearby, a relaxed bonus room offers a comfortable gathering space for bedtime stories, movies, and quiet family moments.

In the powder bath, one of the home’s most personal moments emerges through a cocooning blue limewash, a custom walnut vanity, and heirloom crocheted artwork from the homeowners’ great-grandmother, blending past and present in a quiet, thoughtful way.

The main living room continues the narrative of livable elegance, where generous seating, performance fabrics, and layered patterns create a space equally suited for entertaining guests or building train tracks on the coffee table.

Downstairs, the lower level expands the home’s ability to gather and entertain. A richly painted bar with mirrored backsplash and warm finishes supports everything from adult evenings with friends to casual family nights, while a custom banquette and layered furnishings create an inviting place to linger over meals or conversation.

In the primary suite, comfort leads the design. A custom oversized bed invites slow weekend mornings with the whole family piled in, while soft, grounding tones and layered textures create a true retreat from the pace of daily life.

Completed in just a few months from closing to move-in, the project reflects a shared vision between designer and homeowners, one rooted in trust, clarity, and collaboration. The result is a home that feels finished yet evolving, polished yet approachable, and above all, ready to be lived in from the very first day.

The adjacent living space continues that sense of warmth through custom millwork, generous seating, and thoughtful storage, making it an ideal hub for family movie nights and relaxed weekends together.
